Earlier this month, we were disappointed to learn that fan favorite Kym Johnson would be taking a break from the American edition of Dancing With The Stars. Turns out, the pro dancer isn’t exactly leaving; she’s simply transitioning to another role. Kym recently announced that she’s been selected as the newest judge for Dancing With The Stars Australia!
If there’s anyone who can provide celebs with the necessary feedback on their dancing mishaps, it’s Kym Johnson. The talented reality star has turned such left-footed catastrophes as Joey Fatone and Ingo Rademacher into surprisingly skillful dancers. And she’s about to extend her natural teaching ability to an entire cast of celebs on Australia’s version of Dancing With The Stars!
We’d suspected that Kym might be involved with DWTS Australia when she initially announced her hiatus from the American edition of the show, but we had no idea that she’d be a part of the judging panel! Kym announced the exciting news earlier today, during an interview on Australia’s Morning Show, explaining that, “When this opportunity came up, I jumped at it.”
Of course, judging celebrity dancers is a lot different than teaching them, and Kym realizes that there will be a bit of a learning curve. She confesses, “It’s going to be very different for me being at the other side of the table, but I’m very excited.”
Do you think Kym Johnson will be a good judge on Dancing With The Stars Australia? Or are you already eager to see her back among the pro dancers on the original DWTS? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below!
