This morning, we learned the identities of the new celebs on this fall’s Dancing With The Stars cast lineup. Also included in the Good Morning America reveal was a long list of our favorite pros, including Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough and Karina Smirnoff, among others. Sadly, Maksim Chermkovskiy’s name was not a part of the pro dancer lineup. And yes, the bad boy confirms — he will definitely not be back for season 17.
Sorry fans — you are once again going to have to make do with just one Chermkovskiy brother on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars. Val is definitely back, having been paired with the lovely Elizabeth Berkley. But although he may make the occasional guest appearance, Maks has no plans of joining his brother as a regular in the near future.
Why the extended absence? According to Maks, it’s no active grudge against the show. The dancer is simply busy with other projects. He recently told Wetpaint Entertainment, “I would love to be part of the show in one way or another. I just don’t know if I see myself being a pro. Obviously, I love everyone there, but it’s not for me right now.”
For now, Maks is staying involved by actively cheering on his brother. Following this morning’s Dancing With The Stars season 17 reveal on Good Morning America, the dancer tweeted, “Alright Twitterverse! Show some huge love to @iamValC’s partner @ElizBerkley! Y’all gonna love that pair and dancing already looks great!”
