Talk about a bummer opening game for Dancing With The Stars alum Jacoby Jones – not to mention the rest of his team! Not only did the Baltimore Ravens sustain a terrible loss at the hands of the Denver Broncos, they’re about to suffer the absence of one of their best athletes for a minimum of four weeks.
You gotta feel for Jacoby Jones. Every pro athlete knows that injury is a risk you take on the field and a natural part of the game. But that doesn’t make sitting on the sidelines any more enjoyable. And Jacoby will be doing plenty of sitting around these next several weeks. During last week’s NFL opener, the athlete sustained a severe injury to his knee, caused not by an opponent, but a collision from fellow Raven Brynden Trawick. More recently, we’ve learned that the injury involves a medial collateral ligament sprain, which, according to the Baltimore Sun, will sideline the athlete for anywhere between four and six weeks.
Brynden Trawick is receiving plenty of scrutiny in light of Jacoby’s injury. The Ravens rookie attempted to explain the mishap, confessing, “Just lost sight of the returner, pretty much. I was just trying to block my man and lost sight of where Jacoby was. It’s unfortunate that I ran into him. I’ve just got to have more awareness there.”
How do you think Jacoby Jones’ injury and resulting absence will impact the Baltimore Ravens? Sound off in the comments section below!
