Kate Gosselin Returns To Online Couponing After Cookbook Flops

September 09, 2013 08:07 AM by Lisa Princ

Kate Gosselin made headlines recently when she slapped her ex-husband Jon with a lawsuit, which some speculate was just to get her name back in the news in order to gain sales for her new cookbook. However, the pre-sales are not doing as well as the Dancing With The Stars and Celebrity Wife Swap alum had hoped, so now she has decided to get back into online couponing!

If you were a fan of Kate Gosselin’s couponing at Coupon Cabin, you’re in luck because she is back at it. Well, she didn’t actually return to Coupon Cabin, who terminated her last October, but she has started her very own online couponing website. Gosselin’s website, Coupons By Kate was started up last month.

However, rumor has it that the reason Kate has gone back to couponing is because the super-stardom she expected from her new cookbook, Kate Gosselin: Love Is In the Mix is not happening. According to Radar Online, the cookbook has been on pre-order with Amazon for weeks now, and is failing to do well. In fact, it is currently listed as #16,359 on Amazon’s most popular list, which is no where near where Gosselin wanted to see it.

Ironically, Kate was hoping the lawsuit against Jon would help the book sales, but since the lawsuit was filed, the numbers have actually dropped! Gosselin is not giving up though, instead she continues to urge her fans and followers on social media to order the cookbook.

Now it’s your turn to sound off! What do you think of Kate Gosselin returning to online couponing? Will you use her site? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it! Comment below to share your thoughts with us!

Actually, her book has been out for pre-order for months, not weeks. After the People article, Kate should have read the comments, they were all negative. Her crying struggling, when just prior to the People article, she bought a new Audi car(her 3rd one), and have not down sized, anything. Her twitter counter does not represent the count of how many fans, she really has. Most have been bought. And just cause one episode of JK8 had 10 million viewers(how many years ago)does not mean 10 million still like her and want her on TV. They watched to see a train wreck nothing more. Go get a real job, stay off TV, and leave the kids out of show biz.

When Kate descides to sue her ex husband over a marital asset even though what he did. I see no hope for Kate because she has a ton of skeletons in her closet and suing her broke ex husband is not going to help her gain anymore of the little fans she has in which I can count on one hand. She has gained more haters than ever whether Kate know it or not. When she did wrong she should expect to bet any rewards for destroying the Gosselin 8 father no matter what.

How the mighty have fallen. If you spend your waking hours putting people down, making yourself the most important thing on earth, mocking one and all, it’s bound to come back and bite you, you know where. Like others before her, she under estimated her audience, thinking she was some sort of a Goddess and should be treated as such.
I wonder if a job is in future calling becuse no station will pick her up?

Her 15 minutes were up years ago. She should just go away.

Something is brewing, her blog page/website is indicating that there are good things happening in the future….hmmm. I wonder what that could be?

FYI, Sherry– Kate (The Former Wife… aka TFW/TFMJG) ALWAYS says good things are in the works, shortly after she inevitably fails. It’s her MO, as she has zero natural talent and nothing to offer the public. Translation: “My life is in a shambles, I have no job, no friends or family I haven’t alienated, my cookbook just tanked, Rat Claws/Purse Boy/Boobyguard now works for Honey Boo Boo’s show, and I’m suing my ex-husband, a former tabloid reporter (turned journalist/author), and any 20+ haters I can identify for millions of dollars.” Any jury of Kate’s peers will likely opt to transfer the award to Jon Gosselin & Co. for damages/pain and suffering!

She’s reaping what she sowed. She was so nasty to her husband, her helpers, and everyone who worked with her vents about how ridiculously difficult and diva-ish she is to work with/for. You cannot treat people like door mats and expect life to be kind.

Bottom line is in order to be successfully marketable, you must be likable and your target audience has to be able to relate to you, and it is impossible to like or relate to someone who portrays such a horrible and CONTROLLING persona.

Did everyone notice how she only “softened” up after her show was cancelled, and she started to hit rock bottom financially? While she was popular and hat TLC’s favorite show and was selling books left and right she was a mean bitch. But when all that ended she became “oh little poor human and likable me”. Too late Kate, and if people fall for that crap, they’re as crazy as she is!

GO AWAY KATE! You are getting what you deserve for being such a horror of a person to everyone who tried to help you. I won’t spend a cent on anything to do with you.

The correct title: “Kate Gosselin: Money Is In The Mix.” After previewing this in a local bookstore, my impression is this “cookbook” was nothing more than a money-making vehicle for Ms Gosselin that was hastily churned out, as there are several sloppy editing errors, along with mismatched photos. The premise for a Kate Gosselin “cookbook” lacks credibility–I’ve read articles where she has been quoted as saying she feeds only organic foods to her kids, so for me to believe her kids have eaten these recipes filled with non-organic, high-sodium, MSG-laced ingredients is difficult to swallow. No pun intended…

Many of the recipes require high-sodium ingredients such as canned soup or shoyu, which I would NOT want to feed to my son. Cooking from cans is not my idea of a cookbook, and if I wanted to cook that way, I can order one of Campbell’s cookbooks on Amazon. At least their cookbooks are proofread, the recipes tested, and attractively and professionally presented. If Kate has to rely on high-sodium, MSG-laced ingredients in her recipes for flavoring, I have to question her qualifications to author a cookbook in the first place.

There wasn’t anything new, creative or imaginative in this “cookbook”, just very basic recipes that you can easily find on the internet; her recipes appear to be copied verbatim from recipe-sharing websites. Some of her recipes were vague on the quantity of ingredients, which indicates how amateurish this publishing endeavor was. I have yet to see a GOOD cookbook where several recipes do not list the exact amount for ingredients, so it appears there was no “testing” of these recipes.

This “cookbook” seems to be rehashed internet recipes along with rehashed old photos of her kids. It is a sordid attempt to stay relevant in the public eye and clearly a last-gasp attempt to cash in on the Gosselin name.

She expected superstardom from a cookbook? This from a woman who has no culinary training and who has never been known for her cooking skills? Look up ‘deluded’ in the dictionary and you’ll find Kate Gosselin’s photo next to it. I don’t think “Coupons by Kate” will be around very long. This Has-Been needs to realize that she has no talent.
