Arsenio Hall is back! After almost 20 years off the air, the comedian has finally made his return to late night television, as The Arsenio Hall show returned last night. How did NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice winner do on his return, and why did he disappear for so long? Details inside.
Arsenio Hall made his return to late night television last night, and while he was still cracking jokes as he did in the 1990′s, we were luckily not subjected to shoulder pads and huge hair. Hall was definitely a little rusty, but heck, he has been off the air for nearly two decades, so we need to cut him some slack.
“Well, leave it to the first black late-night host to take 19 years off work and come back here and expect my job to still be waiting for me,” Hall joked at the start of the show, and was then joined by his friends Chris Tucker and Snoop Dogg, err Lion, or whatever he calls himself now. In the first few moments of the show, viewers watched a clip of Tara Reid in a Sharknado spoof, and Paula Abdul greeting Halls return after she took a jab at Simon Cowell. While it may not have been the strongest return ever, it was definitely fun.
Meanwhile, Hall also revealed recently that the reason he took a break from his career was to be a single dad to his son. “I knew that I had money and success, but my life wasn’t right. I needed it for a lot of reasons,” Hall explained of his departure all those years ago. He also went to explain that he has a new appreciation for all the single mothers out there now.
