It’s been nearly a month since Bachelor and Bachelor Pad star Gia Allemand took her own life. The suicide left Allemand’s friends and family in shock, and now, Gia’s mother, as well as Bachelor star Jake Pavelka are opening up about her death to Dr. Phil.
It’s never easy to lose someone we love, especially due to suicide. But imagine listening to your very own child breathe their last breath while on the phone with you. Heartbreaking, isn’t it? That’s exactly what Gia Allemand’s mother went through when her daughter took her own life almost a month ago.
Opening up to Dr. Phil for today’s show, Gia’s mom, Donna Micheletti revealed that her daughter committed suicide while on the phone with her. Micheletti continued: “I’m the closest person in the world to her. And she didn’t want to be alone when she left this world, so she wanted mommy to be there, I guess,” with tears pouring down her face. We can’t even begin to fathom what she is feeling.
Meanwhile, Jake Pavelka, who may not have chosen Gia Allemand on the show, joined her mother on Dr. Phil. Jake described having a special relationship with Gia, and his heartbreak over her death. In the previews for the show, Jake is seen telling Dr. Phil: “Gia really understood me. We got really close after the show. We had such a special relationship. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel that I knew her, but I wish it was not for such a short time, because I’ve never met anybody like her.”
