Christina Milian Brings Her Pop Star Experience To Dancing With The Stars

September 12, 2013 05:00 PM by Suzy Kerr

Christina Milian may be the contestant to watch this season on Dancing With the Stars. She has had chart-topping hit singles and starring roles in both film and television, but will her experience help her on the ballroom dance floor?

She sure hopes so! Christina Milian is one of the latest musicians to join the ABC ballroom dancing competition. Joined by partner, Mark Ballas — a proven winner — Christina hopes to turn her hip hop dance experience into a race for the mirror ball trophy.

Christina Milian found mild success with her first album in 2001, but in 2004 she became a household name for her hit Dip It Low and for dating her costar in the film Love Don’t Cost a Thing, Nick Cannon.

Most recently she brought her bubbly personality to the singing competition The Voice as the show’s social correspondent, tracking the shows news on Twitter and interacting with the contestants both before and after they performed. She recently announced she was taking a break from the next season in order to focus on her music career…and it probably got in the way of competing on Dancing With the Stars.

Christina Milian is not the only contestant with dancing experience this season. High School Musical’s Corbin Bleu, Showgirls star Elizabeth Berkeley, Glee’s Amber Riley and Rhoda star Valerie Harper all have professional dancing experience.
