As much as he was chasitised for his racy Blurred Lines performance at this year’s Video Music Awards, bulk of recent Robin Thicke criticism has been aimed at a racy Instagram photo — one in which he can clearly be seen grabbing the butt of a woman who is definitely not Paula Patton. Finally responding to the critics, the singer and Duets judge offered up his best poker face and an explanation completely devoid of detail.
If there’s anyone who knows how to skirt controversial questions, it’s Robin Thicke. Asked by Star Magazine about the infamous butt grab photo featuring fan and alleged mistress Lana Scolaro, Robin responded, “My only comment about the so-called scandalous photo would be that my wife and I are perfectly in love and very happily married. So, no complaints there.”
All we can really learn from this response is that Robin and Paula’s relationship will not fall apart due to an Instagram snapshot. But Robin’s been involved in much racier material over the past year, so we’re not too surprised to learn that Paula’s sticking around. But we’re still pretty curious as to the nature of the photo, not to mention Robin’s relationship with Lana.
It’s obvious that Robin desires to keep his mouth shut on the butt grab photo controversy, but he’s still more than willing to talk about his beloved wife. He told Star, “It’s the greatest love of the century and the most functional, dysfunctional marriage in Hollywood…As a relationship progresses, you fall in love again in so many deeper ways. You realize that you need each other and you can’t live without each other.”
What do you think of Robin and Paula’s ‘functional, dysfunctional’ relationship? Sound off in the comments section below!
