Dancing With The Stars: Bill Nye Is ‘In It To Win It’

September 16, 2013 05:00 PM by Lisa Princ

The new season of Dancing With The Stars starts tonight, and we’ve learned that some of the competitors are a nervous wreck, but what about Bill Nye, who claims that dancing is nothing more than physics? Well, our favorite Science Guy admits that he’s got his eye on that mirror ball trophy, but also revealed that he is not such a great dancer!

Bill Nye certainly knows a thing or two about Science, but was about dancing? Does he really have any chance at winning the coveted mirror ball trophy? In the words of American Idol’s Randy Jackson, Bill Nye insists that he is: “In it to win it.”

But just because he would love to win the mirror ball, does not mean that he actually will. In fact, Nye is not so sure of his dance moves. Speaking to CBS recently, the Science Guy admitted: “I watch myself on video, I’m so bad. It’s extraordinary. The guy has such horrible posture, he’s so pigeon-toed – how can he even move around on the Earth? He’s so uncoordinated.”

However, Nye still has hope that with a great partner, and some dance in his background, he may be able to make it to the end. “I love swing dancing. And there’s a dance called the jive, which is sort of the international interpretation of swing. So I think there should be some transferable skills. I’m just hoping against hope that there are skills that can be transferred.”

Now, we don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to see how the Science Guy stacks up against his competition tonight on the premiere!
