Could Kenichi Ebina blow away the competition and win season eight of America’s Got Talent? With three singers on the roster, the odds might be stacked against him. Whatever the results, there’s no denying — Kenichi is a class act!
All six finalists did an amazing job on last night’s episode of America’s Got Talent. Unfortunately, only one can emerge a champion. Howie Mandel predicts a singer will snag this year’s crown and Mel B agrees, naming opera trio Forte as a real possibility. Howard Stern hopes the lucky victor will be a comedian, tweeting, “I’m thinking Taylor could win the whole thing.”
What we’d love to see is voters switching things up and selecting a dancer as this year’s champ. And there’s no more worthy candidate than Kenichi Ebina, the novelty performer who blew us away the very first time he stepped on the America’s Got Talent stage. Last night, Kenichi was amazing as usual, performing a remixed version of the Matrix dance that first captivated audience members during the audition round. Typically, the judges advise against contestants repeating themselves, particularly during the finale. But this season, it’s a little different, as the format actually required an encore from each performer. At any rate, there was enough new material in Kenichi’s performance to keep it fresh.
Howard Stern was particularly impressed by Kenichi Ebina, later tweeting that the dancer was “out of this world.” He told the audience that Kenichi definitely deserved to win. Unfortunately, as Howie has noted, singers usually snag more votes than other types of performers. Thus, we’re not too optimistic about Kenichi’s chances.
