It’s hard to believe, but America’s Got Talent season 8 is already almost over. Despite Sharon Osbourne’s absence, it’s been a good run, with new judges Heidi Klum and Mel B proving incredibly popular. As the final episode approaches, viewers are curious as to whether the current judges will want to work together in the future. What does Howie Mandel think of the season 8 judges’ chemistry?
Just a few months ago, we worried that Heidi Klum and Mel B would prove a poor fit for the America’s Got Talent judging panel. We’re happy to say that these two ladies offered a most welcome surprise. Not only did they fit in well with AGT vets Howard Stern and Howie Mandel, they provided a refreshing mix of humor and contstructive feedback.
Howie Mandel absolutely loves working with all three of his fellow judges, although he won’t say as to whether he prefers them to former dream team of Sharon Osoburne and Piers Morgan. He recently told the Star Tribune, “I’ve been there four years now. There was great chemistry back then, and it’s been more of the same this year.”
They may work well together, but that’s not to say that the current judges agree at all times. Howie explains, “We come from four different schools of thought, but we’re four strong-willed, passionate people who can respectfully disagree.”
Perhaps the biggest source of tension on the show is the continued rivalry between Howie and fellow judge Howard Stern. They share three letter in their first names, but that’s where the similarities between the two judges end. But although they nearly always disagree, the two enjoy discussing their favorite and least favorite acts. According to Howie, the two judges are “good friends who love a good argument. We have different tastes, and we’re more than happy to air our laundry in front of the world.”
