Phil Robertson has made his religious beliefs clear through sermons covering such topics as abortion and repentance. But how does the Duck Dynasty star stack up in the political realm? He certainly had some choice words for the current administration during a recent chat with Fox & Friends.
A significant chunk of Fox & Friends’ audience makes a point of following the weekly redneck shenanigans featured on Duck Dynasty. As such, it’s only fitting that the show would set aside time to chat with the reality show’s patriarch, Phil Robertson. This week, the primary topic of conversation? Politics — a fitting subject for Fox & Friends!
Willie’s already been rumored as a possible Republican candidate, but could Phil be the actual political threat? Not likely, but the reality star does enjoy speculating how he could shake up the current status quo. He explains, “If I were in politics and if you ever get me in the White House, trust me, there’s a big change coming.”
According to Phil, America’s biggest problem all stems from “[losing] our roots.” The reality star feels this loss occurred, in part, because Americans have become too comfortable and too dependent on the government. He adds that the nation would be much better off if its citizens made a point of pursuing quiet lives. An interesting perspective, particularly from someone who has made bank through his continued presence in the public eye!
What do you think of Phil Robertson’s political observations? Would you like to see him run for office? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below!\
