Derek Hough almost always proves an advantageous pairing for contestants on Dancing With The Stars. Not only does the pro offer amazing choreography (for which he recently received an Emmy), he’s also a great teacher. What does Amber Riley think of her new dancing partner?
By week two, contestants understand just how difficult it is to learn and perform new ballroom routines. At this point, their continued success results from a combination of natural talent, work ethic and good partnering. And based on last night’s performance, Amber Riley appears to have all three!
She might make it look easy, but Amber confesses that dancing is anything but simple. Perfecting material so quickly can be both physically and mentally taxing. Fortunately, Derek Hough always has Amber’s back. While chatting with People about her amazing partner, the Glee star gushed, “Derek keeps me from getting negative. When I get to that place, he’s good at redirecting me. Even in my everyday life, I can learn from that.”
Amber adds that, although the leaderboard is important, it’s not all about scores. She says that, as cheesy as it may sound, her main goal is to have a good time. “I’m just having so much fun. I’m having so much fun that I don’t even think about [scores], especially when I’m on the dance floor.”
What did you think of Amber Riley’s jive performance on last night’s episode of Dancing With The Stars? Did it deserve a 24? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it, so stop by the comments section and share your thoughts!
