Jeff Probst hates quitters, which is why Colton Cumbie should have thought twice before landing himself with that dreaded title on the latest season of Survivor. Too late now! How did Jeff respond to Colton’s much-anticipated return to and quick departure from reality TV?
We’ve seen our fair share of quitters on Survivor, but when you quit the contest twice, you land yourself in a special class of taboo. Such was the case with Colton Cumbie, the contestant who bid farewell to his Survivor adversaries not once, but two times. Suffice to say, this decision landed him in plenty of hot water with Jeff Probst. Typically mild-mannered, the show’s host gets pretty annoyed when contestants squander what he views as a gem of an opportunity. So of course, when such an ingrate takes this approach twice, Jeff’s not a happy guy.
Jeff Probst was quick to show his displeasure after Colton Cumbie walked away (and no, he did not attempt to fake appendicitis, as Jeff is so quick to claim). The host grumbled about Colton being a terrible candidate for reality television, explaining, ”Lots of people like to watch adventure. It doesn’t necessarily mean they should get up off the couch.” He later added, ”I’m now convinced that Colton is the guy that never should’ve got up off the couch. We brought a quitter back, and we got a quit again.”
Do you agree with Jeff Probst? Does Colton Cumbie’s second departure prove that bringing a quitter back on Survivor is a terrible move? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below!
