Adriana de Moura Offends With Email Wedding Invites

October 08, 2013 04:30 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

From NeNe Leakes to Adriana de Moura, this year is chock full of Real Housewives weddings! NeNe’s bridezilla process is recounted in detail on I Dream of NeNe, while Adriana’s plans are currently front and center on The Real Housewives of Miami. How did the Miami bride manage to offend the invited guests?

With the internet age in full force, what constitute proper protocal for wedding invites? Do email invitations fall under the realm of good etiquette? Adriana de Moura thinks that virtual invites are perfectly fine, but apparently, several recipients do not agree. During last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Miami, Adriana took a lot of flak for her approach to invitations, receiving criticism from both audience members and, earlier on, invited guests.

In a recent blog for Bravo, Adriana attempted to explain the reasoning behind her supposedly offensive email invitations. She said that, in an age of tablets and smart phones, online invitations made more sense, adding, “Who needs a printed invite when nobody cares about that anymore?”

It would be misleading to suggest that the online format of the invites was the only thing bothering recipients. Even more problematic was the actual content of the email, which offered detailed instructions on what guests could and could not wear to the wedding. In her latest blog post, Adriana said that these fashion hints were not intended to cause offense, explaining, “I take my fashion seriously, it is a form of art, a form of expressing yourself, and on my wedding day I wanted to make sure everything looked perfect! ”

Do you think it’s okay for Adriana de Moura to send her wedding invitations via email? Sound off in the comments section below!
