Remember last month when we all got a good laugh at Kanye West’s epic Twitter rampage against Jimmy Kimmel? As a reminder, it included gems such as “Sarah Silverman is a thousand times funnier than you and the whole world knows it!!!”Good stuff, right? Unfortunately, we probably won’t get to enjoy anymore of those zingers, because the baby daddy of Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian and the late night talk show host hugged it out last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, putting an end to their hilarious feud.
Kanye appeared on Jimmy’s show to clear the air after last month’s spat, and he didn’t waste anytime getting right down to business. The rapper started by pointing out that none, I repeat NONE, of it was done for more media exposure. “Everyone out there needs to know that I’ve never done a publicity stunt in my life,” he told Jimmy in the heart-to-heart. “Anytime I went up and spoke my mind whether I thought it put my career in jeopardy or whatever, it was always what I thought was the truth. I don’t follow the rules of like normal celebrity or whatever their publicists tell them to say. I don’t do publicity stunts, period.” Right.
In an odd display of maturity, Kanye also addressed how quickly the fight escalated and became juvenile. ” At a certain point, egos can flare up. We kind of just took it back to high school for a little bit,” he said. Interesting use of the word “we” since Kanye was the one firing off the immature tweets, but okay. It’s nice that the two patched up their differences and can return to not mocking one another in late night sketches and social media, although it was certainly entertaining while it lasted.
After the show, the rapper stepped out with girlfriend Kim Kardashian and four-month old daughter North West to enjoy dinner at Hakkasan in Beverly Hills. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star also showed her support of her man by tweeting “This Jimmy Kimmel interview is the truth!” Looks like everything is sunshine and rainbows again for this portion of the Kardashian clan.
So do you think that Kanye West has really forgiven Jimmy Kimmel, or was he worried about how the feud was hurting his image? Tell us in the comments!
