It’s hard to believe that Honey Boo Boo has only been a part of the reality television world for two years. To mark the second anniversary of her family’s TV adventure, Mama June posted a thank you video for the dedicated fans who have supported the Thompsons along the way.
Say what you want about sketti, burps and forklift foot, you have to admit that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo serves as a refreshing change of pace from the Kardashians and Real Housewives. Even after all the success they’ve experienced in the past few years, this redneck brood remains as humble as ever. Mama June proved it once again the other day, when she posted a sweet thank you video for her daughter’s fans.
As Mama June explains in the video clip, October 12th is an important day for the Thompson family. It marks both Jessica’s 17th birthday and the very first day of filming for Toddlers and Tiaras, which, of course, ultimately led to the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo spin-off. The reality mom recognizes that none of this would have been possible without continued fan support, which is why she thanked viewers profusely for “everything y’all have ever done for us.”
Although she appreciates any and all audience feedback, Mama June is partial to the “special fans,” which is how Alana refers to those experiencing physical and mental disorders. Apparently, many of these special needs individuals (particularly kids with autism and Down’s syndrome) are able to respond to Here Comes Honey Boo Boo in a manner not possible with other television programs.
