Cee Lo Green may have been cleared of the sexual assault charges filed against him by a mystery woman, but he is still being charged with possession of Ecstasy. However, The Voice judge has pled not guilty to those charges as well!
The Voice‘s Cee Lo Green was likely telling the truth when he claimed that he did not sexually assault anyone, after one mystery came forward last year accusing him of doing so, after slipping Ecstasy in her drink, but those sexual assault charges were tossed out. Apparently, after further investigation, authorities found that any intimacy between the two was completely consensual.
However, Cee Lo is adamant that he not guilty of the Ecstasy charge either, and according to TMZ, he pled not guilty to the drug charge yesterday. Another hearing for Green has been set up for next month, and according to the site, if he is convicted, he could face up to four years in prison. Speaking to TMZ, Cee Lo explained that he is relieved about the sexual assault charge, and not worried about the drug charge.
“We are pleased that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has completed its investigation and concluded that the evidence did not support the false and unfounded claims made over a year ago,” Green’s attorney told the site, adding of the drug charge: “Mr. Green will responsibly address that matter in a court of law.”
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, TMZ also reports that NBC and The Voice have no intention of firing Cee Lo Green from the show, despite the controversy.
