Uh oh, looks like someone told the youngest stars of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that some damage control was in order, because Kendall and Kylie Jenner took to social media yesterday to confront recent tabloid stories about their bad behavior. Borrowing a page from soon-to-be brother-in-law Kanye West’s handbook, the girls each embarked on a Twitter rant to blast back at the haters.
Last week we reported that the Jenner sisters were spotted at 21-and-over club Vignette, where they supposedly used fake IDs to get in. Bouncers said the girls, who are just 16 and 17 years old, were carded and presented what appeared to be legit IDs to enter the club, where they partied until the wee hours. After leaving, paparazzi got photos of the two looking VERY tired in the backseat of a car before the vehicle sped off.
Star magazine took the story even further, saying that Kylie and Kendall Jenner’s bad behavior wasn’t limited to Vignette. The tabloid also reported that the girls – who they dubbed “teenage trainwrecks” were “smoking pot” and “getting trashed at clubs until 2 am.” They’ve also apparently been busy “crashing cars,” according to Star. Okay, I can buy the stuff about partying in clubs because there is photographic evidence of that, but wrecking cars? C’mon. Does anyone really think these kids are driving themselves around? HELLO! They have chauffeurs for that.
Anyway, the teenage reality princess were none too happy with the less-than-flattering articles being written about them, so they logged into Twitter so they could tell us about in 140 characters or less. Except when you’re trying to be “straight up” and you’re “sick & tired of the rumors” you need waaaaaay more than 140 characters. Here’s what Kylie Jenner had to say:
“Bout to be straight up because I’m sick & tired of the rumors this past week..I’m sorry to disappoint, but Kendall & I will not grow up to be let downs. I know that’s what some people would unfortunately like to see…but I’m not going to sit around and let grown adults create untrue stories about me underage drinking & partying every night with a fake I.D. And F.Y.I. regarding the “club nights”, I was with my father & family supporting my brother and sister-in-law. We can stop with all the stories now. And to all the young girls out there just like me, carry yourself with class and dignity and don’t let ANYONE determine your future”
BAM. Now here’s what’s on Kendall Jenner’s mind:
“I am so done with everyone making my little sister and I out to be something that we are not. shut up with these stupid rumors and stories. no one has fake ID’s and no one’s partying. we know that’s what all you slimy media people want to see but that is not going to happen. we’re smarter than that, we have goals and personally I think it’s sad that some people sit at their desk making things up……about girls that are trying to have a career just like everybody else. get over it. no story here.”
So what do you think? Are we being too hard on Kylie and Kendall? Or has the success of Keeping Up With the Kardashians gone to their heads and turned them into entitled brats? Tell us in the comments!
