Is Bethenny Frankel Too ‘Cold’ For Her Talk Show Audience?

October 25, 2013 03:00 PM by Suzy Kerr

Is Bethenny Frankel about to become the new Ice Queen of daytime talk shows? That’s what Page Six is reporting, with an eye-opening story about the former Real Housewives of New York City star’s frosty demeanor on her new talk show – toward both show staffers and audience members.

Since premiering in September, the ratings from Bethenny (what an original name, right?) have been anything but mind-blowing…unless you count mind-blowingly low, anyway. With just a million viewers, the show has been struggling to stay relevant, and Bethenny has been working hard to increase her ratings. Earlier in the month, we reported that the former reality star reached out to rival Jill Zarin, who she famously feuded with on The Real Housewives of New York City. Bethenny thought having her ex-bestie would be a guaranteed ratings boost, but Jill was all, “bitch please” and refused to make an appearance.

Ratings don’t seem to be the only problem for Bethenny Frankel, though. Page Six’s story is anything but flattering, saying that the talk show host’s “standoffish demeanor” has offended both staffers and audience members who have complained about her “icy disposition.” One insider says that Bethenny is only present when she absolutely has to be. “She’s cold and only walks in when she has to tape and walks out,” says the source. There have also apparently been some email complaints to producers regarding the former reality star’s disinterest in interacting with her audience.

Some staffers are backing up these reports as well, claiming that Bethenny has little involvement in planning and producing the show. However, other insiders say all these stories are totally bogus, and that the talk show host is highly involved, right down to choosing the flowers in guest dressing rooms.

I guess the only thing we know for certain is her ratings aren’t so hot, and Bethenny Frankel better do something – and do it fast – if she wants to keep giving her audience and staff the cold shoulder. Otherwise, there’s not going to be anyone around to complain about it.

What do you think? Are you buying that Bethenny is one cold beyotch, or are these just silly rumors? Tell us in the comments!

I think it’s BS! Consider all she is going through right now. She has to live with her ex or she’s not allowed to see her daughter. He’s a Federline wanna be the only difference is she can take care of her daughter and he can’t get a job.

I watched this show for one episode and could not stand it, she’s irritating! I saw the commercial for her show today for her interview w/Ommarosa and I taped it to just fast forward to that section. Wow! She let Ommarosa get the best of her! She came off as totally unprofessional. She should have never given O the power to take over like she did and then to make her the fool. She should have known better!!
If she has so much going on then maybe she needs to take a good deep look at herself and re-evaluate her priorities.
As far as Ommarosa goes, she’s an associate pastor??? Where? Do they teach hate there cause that is what she pours out. How about learn to be humble and get that chip off your shoulder. Retire the race thing already, it’s not all about that, it’s about what you as a person have to offer the world. Enough said.
