Good thing The Voice has yet to move to its live round, as, given CeeLo Green’s current drug drama, there would be a huge elephant in the room — making the two-hour episode incredibly uncomfortable for everyone involved! That’s not to say CeeLo will manage to escape such awkwardness for good, but with the help of a nice new plea deal, he might actually be able to escape jail time and continue his gig as a reality TV judge.
CeeLo Green may have been cleared of charges involving sexual assault, but he’s still facing possible jail time for the alleged exchange of illicit drugs. So far, the celebrity has chosen to plead not guilty, but, given revelations of a new plea deal, he just might want to rethink his approach. A source tells Radar Online that “if CeeLo decides to plead out, he will not face any jail time and the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor.”
That’s not to say CeeLo’s plea deal would equate to a ‘get out of jail free’ card. He’d still face repercussions for his actions, including attendance at “drug education classes and narcotics anonymous meetings.” These consequences may serve as mild annoyances, but they’re still highly preferable to the prospect of jail time! As such, Radar Online’s insider claims, “It’s likely the case will never go to trial,” adding, “he does not have a criminal record, which would help him in the event of any plea deal.”
What do you think? Will CeeLo Green take a plea deal in hopes of avoiding time behind bars? Sound off in the comments section below!
