Hopefully Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have a huge room in their house that they can dedicate exclusively to trophies and awards, because country’s power couple certainly needs it after last night’s big wins at the CMAs. Blake, who’s also currently a coach on The Voice, took home the award for Male Vocalist of the Year, and his wife Miranda snagged Female Vocalist of the Year. I’m betting there will be some serious celebrating at the ol’ Shelton-Lambert homestead in the very near future.
Blake Shelton is no stranger to winning big, so last night’s victory for the top prize at the Country Music Awards didn’t really come as a huge surprise. Plus, this is the fourth consecutive time he’s received that particular award, so it’s probably just second nature for him to walk up on stage when the winner of that category is announced. I’m guessing when they call his name, he’s just like, “Eh, cool, whatever.” Or maybe he panics because he’s running out of shelf space to store all his trophies.
At 37 years old, the guy is already a legend, and not just in country music. He’s also a huge star in reality television since first appearing as a coach on The Voice when the singing competition premiered five seasons ago. On the show, the country crooner has been victorious more than once – three times, to be exact – a fact that he hasn’t hesitated to remind the other coaches about. While things aren’t looking quite as promising for win this season, time will tell if Blake will be able to add another one of the hand-doing-a-peace-sign-holding-a-microphone trophies (seriously could not figure out any other way to describe it) to his ever-growing collection.
So what do you think of Blake’s big win at the CMAs last night? Do you think he’ll be able to pull off another win on The Voice this season? Tell us in the comments!
