Kendall And Kylie Jenner: Adolescence In The Spotlight Is Tough

November 11, 2013 11:00 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

It’s hard to believe it now, what with all their sultry selfies, but when Kendall and Kylie Jenner first appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians several years back, they were just two adorable tweens. The dynamic duo says that growing up on reality TV is tough — particularly given the constant criticism to which they’ve been subjected.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner are sick and tired of all the rumors surrounding their alleged bad girl behavior. Following last month’s epic Twitter rant, the two have decided to speak out on their teenage struggles in a calmer manner, subtly mentioning the controversy in a recent interview with People.

The Jenner sisters feel that it’s important for critics to remember that being in the spotlight as a teen is far different than becoming famous in your 20s (as was the case for big sisters Kourtney, Khloe and Kim). As Kendall explains, the older Kardashian siblings ”lived it normally and then once they were already grown up, they went through what we’re now going through.”

Of course, growing up as a rich and famous reality star isn’t all bad. Kylie says she makes a point on focusing on all the good in her life — and there’s plenty of it! “You just have to come back and realize all of the great things that have come out of [being famous]. All of the good you can do with having the spotlight on you and just having your family around you.”

Do you think of the continued scrutiny surrounding Kendall and Kylie Jenner as unfair? Sound off in the comments section below!
