Ever since Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars Bruce and Kris Jenner announced their separation back in October, they’ve maintained that they’re still the best of friends, they’ll always love and respect each other, etc ., blah blah blah whatever. Of course, since that’s what practically every famous couple says when they split up, people doubted that things were still all warm and cozy between the reality celebs. Well here’s a newsflash, Doubters – you couldn’t be more wrong. At least, that’s what Bruce Jenner is saying.
“She supports me. I see her every day. We’re doing absolutely great,” the former Olympian said yesterday at the All Sports Film Festival in L.A. In fact, Kris was on hand at the festival to present her ex with the Legendary Athletes Award, which he received for his athletic prowess during the 1976 Olympics, where we won gold in the decathlon.
Bruce’s sentiment about the current state of his relationship with Kris Jenner sounds quite familiar, as this is exactly what the reality matriarch has been saying all along. Shortly after announcing their split, Kris told Us Weekly, “We ended a marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship. I will always love him, but we are no longer a couple in that way.” She continued, “We still do things together and talk three times a day. It’s a modern-day situation.”
Things truly do appear to be amicable between the couple, who share children and still work on Keeping Up With the Kardashians together. Just two weeks ago, the couple and their kids reunited to celebrate Bruce’s 64th birthday, an event which Kris shared on social media. These days, the only thing that really bothers the pair – and especially Bruce Jenner – is when the media hates on his kids. “Sometimes they’ll take some really, really tough shots at the family when they’re not deserved and totally false, especially with my kids,” he explained. “I don’t care what they say about me, but when they start ragging on my kids for things that they’re not doing and totally misrepresenting them, that really, really bothers me to say the least.”
So what are your thoughts on Bruce and Kris’s relationship these days? Are they genuinely still friends? What about the Kardashian/Jenner kids – do they deserve the occasional media backlash for their behavior? Tell us in the comments!
