Ruben Studdard Returns To The Biggest Loser After Jillian Michaels Sabotages Weigh In

November 13, 2013 10:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Just when we thought that we saw the last of Ruben Studdard on The Biggest Loser ranch, bam, guess what? The American Idol season two champ will be back next week for a second chance at getting healthy. However, Studdard’s return didn’t come without a cost, as Jillian Michaels was accused of sabotaging the very weigh in that left Ruben below the red line, and she paid the price for that last night. Yikes, what happened?

What started out as a depressing episode of The Biggest Loser last night, with members of the red team shaken up over Studdard’s exit last week, turned completely around during this week’s weigh in. Our favorite American Idol champ will be returning to The Biggest Loser ranch on next week’s episode, thanks to an stupid move on the part of Jillian Michaels.

In case you missed last night’s episode, at the weigh in, Alison announced that Jillian Michaels broke the rules the week prior, and was giving her contestants a caffeine supplement without the consent of the show’s doctor. Caffeine supplements are known to aid in weight loss, but Jillian stood by her decision, claiming that the supplements are better for you than taking in a lot of coffee. But whether she intentionally tried to sabotage the weigh in or not, rules are rules, and she clearly did not follow them.

Click here to find out what Jillian Michaels had to say about what happened!

For that she would pay a price…well, sadly her team paid the price. For her punishment, her team was given a 4 pound disadvantage on the scale, while Bob Harper’s blue team was given their immunity from last week, and Dolvett Quince’s red team was informed that Ruben Studdard would return. It also proved to be a very costly mistake for Michaels, when her team did not lose enough weight with the penalty to beat the red team, and someone had to get sent home. Falling below the red line for the white team was Craig, the very same contestant that Jillian saved at the very first weigh in.

So, now we have to ask: Do you think that Jillian Michaels purposely tried to sabotage the weigh in?

What did you think of Ruben Studdard returning to The Biggest Loser? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it! Sound off in the comments section and let us know!

Cheating is cheating and not going by the rules is breaking the rules. If that had been me I would have been fired on the spot. I hate to see a contestant suffer because of what Jillian did. To him it is unfair. Send Jillian home instead.

She should be run out on a rail. Her team suffered not her,so she gets by with it? Not in my book. She should have been terminated on the spot and her team divided amongst the red and blue teams.

Jillian wasn’t cheating. I looked into this further and the contestants were told they could have all the caffeine they wanted, in the form of coffee. Jillian knows that unlimited amounts of coffee is unhealthy, not just due to the pesticides used, and decided to use the supplements instead. I think the show is splitting hairs here. What is the difference between getting caffeine by downing a large coffee or taking two capsules? The show’s ratings are tanking fast and have dropped off considerably this year. They are grasping at straws to save the show at Jillian’s expense, but that’s just my opinion.

Jillian has been doing this a long time she should know the rules by now. She should be penalized but fired no.

I agree with NanaBanana.. Rules are rules. Jillian should be punished not her team. If one of our kids/grandkids broke the rules they would suffer the consequences. Jillian should privately be counseled, her team should not be punished, they did what they were told by their trainer. Bring back Craig, cancel out the entire evening and let life go on. I find the show to be very inspiring so does my 9 year old granddaughter who is overweight. Both my granddaughters recognized the chef last night, they are very much into this program. Advise your contestants they are NOT allowed to take supplements or whatever.. Jillian was in the wrong here.

Reality TV isn’t real anymore. The audience is way to smart now. If you believe that Jillian wasn’t asked by the network to take a fall in order to allow Ruben to come back well then, you haven’t watched much Reality TV lately, have you?

Since it was reported that Reuben did, in fact lose weight, I am very glad he is back. Not all of us have a ‘miracle’ quick loss loss start, so give him a chance. Jillian, on the other hand, needs to re-think her value system. I have lost respect for her. One wonders if she has done this before. Will the powers that be take this in to consideration when contracts are up for renewal?
