Bethenny Frankel, former Real Housewives of New York City star and current talk show host, has never been shy about opening up in front of the cameras. Now, the television personality is sharing details of her private life with Health magazine, where she recently discussed her love life, her quest to rediscover herself and, of course, her enviable figure.
Since splitting from estranged husband Jason Hoppy back in 2011, Bethenny has shifted her priorities to focus on her career and motherhood, but she does acknowledge that she’s ready to once again explore other parts of her personal life. However, she also recognizes that it’s a balancing act that isn’t always easy. “I don’t think you can have it all at once. It’s hard to have a career and a personal life and a love life and a sex life,” she explained. “If it happens, I’ll let you know!”
While the Real Housewives of New York City alum has been rumored to be dating Warren Lichtenstein, neither has confirmed a romantic relationship. That doesn’t mean that Bethenny doesn’t know exactly what she’s looking for in a man, though. “Acceptance, confidence, sense of humor, ability to take charge. I’m always so in charge. I’d like someone else to take charge. And it’s not that easy. I’m not that easy a person to take charge of.” There is one stipulation, however, with the whole taking charge thing. “I don’t want anyone to take charge of my business. I want someone to take charge of my personal life.”
Hopefully, if she does find a man that’s willing to call the shots in her personal life, he’s okay with blocking out some gym time each day so she can keep that rockin’ bod. “I like that I have a nice figure, but I don’t any feel pressure about it.” She does admit, however, that having 0% body fat is not the most important thing in the world, to her or to her fans. “It’s not the thing that people identify me with. I mean, they do, but it’s not who I think I am. I’m flawed. I’ve created a success based on being flawed.”
Reflecting on these flaws is also part of Bethenny’s current self-discovery journey, which she sums up as “trying to figure out who [she] is in this new life.” Best of luck on the soul-searching, girlfriend. Perhaps you could encourage some of the other Housewives – past and present – to do a little of their own. They need it.
