Adam Levine’s obviously known about his Sexiest Man Alive victory for quite some time, as People Magazine has already released the exclusive magazine cover, plus a portion of his interview. But that didn’t stop the singer from acting surprised when Carson Daly congratulated him on the big win last night on The Voice. Upon hearing the announcement and being presented with the cover photo, Adam responded, “Carson, you just had that made. That’s not real.”
The Maroon 5 singer dropped the humble approach after Carson asked him how the victory made him feel. Adam’s response? “Sexy.” He then turned to his bromance frenemy Blake Shelton too apologize for the upset. “I’m sorry, Blake. It just didn’t work for you buddy.”
Blake’s managed to one-up Adam many a time on The Voice, but that didn’t stop him from feigning jealousy surrounding his fellow judge’s accomplishment. “This is why I drink so much. [Adam] stole my thunder.”
No worries though, for, while Blake didn’t receive the official title of People’s Sexiest Man Alive, Adam still regards him as the true stud of The Voice. Seeing the feigned disappointment on Blake’s face, Adam attempted to reassure his crestfallen buddy by explaining, “You’re the sexiest man in my book.”
Was Adam Levine the appropriate choice for People’s Sexiest Man Alive? Could this win be a precursor to Team Adam’s highly-anticipated victory on The Voice? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it, so sound off in the comments section below!
