Bethenny Frankel’s talk show is quickly turning into the Bethenny Frankel feuds revisited show. But while her visit with Omarosa ended in disaster, the reality star somehow managed to clear the air with Real Housewives of New York City frenemy LuAnn de Lesseps.
She may be no stranger to Real Housewives drama, but Bethenny claims that she never expected to take part in a feud with LuAnn de Lesseps, otherwise known as the Countess. During a recent chat on Bethenny Frankel’s talk show, both ladies admitted that, in the beginning, their relationship seemed to be light-hearted but honest, standing in stark contrast to most other friendships on The Real Housewives of New York City. Bethenny told LuAnn, “With you, we met in the beginning and I remember us going out and we had a great time.”
Unfortunately, this close friendship quickly began to fall apart. What happened? Bethenny speculates that the intrusion of Bravo’s cameras may have played a big role in the former besties’ deteriorating relationship. “Then we are on the camera… I would always feel like we couldn’t have a really honest friendship on the show.”
LuAnn agrees that the presence of filming crews was, at times, problematic, but also insists that much of the drama could have been avoided simply by staying away from certain topics when the cameras arrived. “Just because you are doing a reality show doesn’t mean you have to lay out all your laundry.”
We’re inclined to agree with LuAnn de Lesseps on this issue, for many of her fellow housewives do seem to struggle to keep their mouths shut! But Bethenny Frankel just might have a point — maintaining close friendships becomes pretty darn difficult in the context of reality television. What do you think?
