Kanye West has made no secret about his feelings for Kim Kardashian. Ever since the two got together, it’s been one grand gesture after another to show the world just how deep their love runs. Now the rapper has his sights set on Vogue, and he’s pushing hard for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star to score her first cover on the acclaimed fashion mag.
In recent weeks, the Yeezus rapper has been increasingly vocal about his woman deserving even more notoriety than she already has.First there were his claims on Jimmy Kimmel Live that Kim Kardashian deserves a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and it is ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS that she doesn’t have one. Then he started in on how Kim is a fashion icon and it doesn’t matter that she’s a reality star, dammit, she DESERVES to recognized for her fashion accomplishments!
And what better way to give her that recognition than with a cover on Vogue, which is like the fashion bible? ‘Ye’s latest effort to orchestrate his scheme was by inviting the mag’s editor Anna Wintour and creative director Grace Coddington to his NYC concert, where he planted them right next to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and mama bear Kris Jenner. While we don’t yet if his strategy had any effect on the sunglasses-clad Wintour, the ladies definitely made for an interesting foursome at the show.
This isn’t Kanye’s first attempt at getting his baby mama on the cover, either. In a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest last month, Yeezy just laid it out. “There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday,” he said. He also couldn’t resist giving himself some props as well, saying, “And collectively, we’re the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [President Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.”Take that, Michelle! I’m sure you’ll lose plenty of sleep over it, right?
I kind of have to hand it to Kanye West. It’s sweet, in a way, how he will apparently stop at nothing to advance Kim’s fame. Hell, he’s even willing to insult the First Lady. And how about his little move with Anna Wintour, putting her right next to Kim and Kris at the concert? That is one woman I wouldn’t want to mess with, but there’s ‘Ye, acting like the puppetmaster with her.I’m impressed.
What about you? Do you think Kanye’s actions are admirable, or is he just being a jackass? Does Kim deserve to be on Vogue or not? Sound off in the comments!
