An Adam Levine victory on The Voice grows more likely by the day, with Blake Shelton surely starting to fear for the continued viability of his reign of terror. Last night, Team Adam impressed once again, intimidating the competition with a unique ‘clone baby’ approach.
What happens when, as Christina Aguilera puts it, you clone Adam Levine and James Wolpert…and let the clones procreate? Outside of a terrifying scenario worthy of a Syfy Saturday special, you wind up with an amazing, albeit disturbing performance on The Voice.
That’s right, Team Adam’s still on top — and Blake Shelton’s worried! Although Adam still considers Tessanne Chin the ultimate front-runner, he also scored a keeper in James Wolpert, the classy crooner who effortlessly carried off Queen’s hit Somebody To Love. He was helped along by a backup group of James Wolpert look-alikes dressed in matching tuxedos and geeky glasses. Carson Daly put it best when he announced, “Representing Team Adam — James Wolpert…and the many James Wolperts.”
Needless to say, the judges absolutely adored James’ version of Somebody To Love. In fact, CeeLo Green labeled it “one of the best performances ever in the history of The Voice.” As you may recall, that same “best performance” pronouncement also took place when Tessanne Chin performed Pink’s Try. Either way, it looks like victory is well within Adam Levine’s reach!
