Blake Shelton has a long, long winning streak on The Voice, having beat out the competition during three of the first four seasons. But his luck may be about to change, thanks to the efforts of Team Adam. Will the bromance survive an Adam Levine victory?
From the beginning, it’s been clear that The Voice season five is the season of Adam Levine. The singer and recently-named Sexiest Man Alive managed to snag a truly talented group of individuals, including such shining stars as Tessanne Chin and James Wolpert, both of whom have impressed with flawless performances.
Team Adam’s potential for victory was once again underscored last night by its failure to land a single contestant in the danger zone. Instead, those undesirable spots went to Team CeeLo’s Caroline Pennell, Team Blake’s Ray Boudreaux and Team Christina’s Matthew Schuler. Ultimately, Matthew was spared by the Instant Save, but Adam came away the true champ of the night, not even having to worry about possible contestant elimination.
According to Carson Daly, a Team Adam win is all but inevitable. In a recent chat with Zap2It, the host explained, “Adam’s got three [contestants left]. The odds are clearly in his favor.” After all, although Blake Shelton’s managed to win three times, the tide had to change at some point. As Carson puts it, “Four in a row just seems like an impossible thing.”
Of course, the great thing about The Voice is that nothing’s ever set in stone. Adam Levine shouldn’t get to comfy with his front-runner status, for, as Carson points out, “Anything can happen. The right song at the right time will win this thing.”
