Two weeks ago, Ruben Studdard was brought back to The Biggest Loser ranch after Jillian Michaels made an error the week of his elimination. However, only two weigh ins later, the Idol champ has been booted again, and honestly, we’re not the least bit surprised!
If you watch The Biggest Loser season after season, then you’re likely not shocked that American Idol’s Ruben Studdard was eliminated for the second time in just a few short weeks. I mean, just two weeks ago, Studdard was brought back to the ranch after we learned that Jillian Michaels gave her contestants caffeine supplements the week of Ruben’s elimination. However, many folks feel that it was nothing more than a conspiracy to bring Studdard back to the ranch, but he proved last night that some things just aren’t meant to be.
Unfortunately for the red team last night, they were not able to pull the numbers that they needed on the scale to beat out the other two teams. Studdard, being the biggest contestant still on the ranch, only managed to lose 2 pounds. While he definitely deserves credit for losing something, we can’t help but think he is doing something wrong as the smaller women seem to be losing weight quicker than he has been. Even Dolvett Quince, Ruben’s trainer, admitted that for his size, Studdard should definitely be pulling bigger numbers each week. Finally, someone said exactly what we’ve been thinking all season!
Since his time on the show, Ruben says that he has lost a total of over one hundred pounds, which is definitely something to celebrate. However, he has a lot more to go to get healthy, but Studdard vowed last night that the next time we see him, he will be “The velvet teddy bear, just with less stuffing.” We can’t wait to see him at the finale.
