Ruben Studdard Dishes On The Biggest Loser Conspiracy

December 05, 2013 12:00 PM by Lisa Princ

A few weeks ago Ruben Studdard was booted from The Biggest Loser ranch after Jillian Michaels made an error in judgment, only to be brought back and then eliminated two short weigh ins later. Of course, this left many folks speculating that there was a conspiracy going on, and now, the Idol champ is finally speaking out about what went down.

Many fans were left wondering whether or not Jillian Michaels tried to sabotage the weigh in on The Biggest Loser, the week of Ruben Studdard’s first elimination as she gave her team caffeine pills without consulting the show’s doctor. However, that quickly changed to a conspiracy theory that the show may have penalized Michaels to bring the Idol champ back, after Michaels hinted that on Twitter after the incident happened. So, what really went down?

Well, according to Studdard, who spoke with reporters after his elimination this week, there was no conspiracy to bring him back. “I have no control over what people decide to do. My only concern was my health and coming back to the show, so I don’t think at all it was a conspiracy to bring me back because they were all sad that I had to leave. I don’t think they wanted me back any more or any less, it was just something that happened. And because of fairness issues, they brought me back,” Studdard told the media yesterday.

And while you still may be questioning whether the show did want to bring Ruben back, Craig Arrington, the contestant eliminated in the aftermath of Michaels’ team getting penalized, insists that there was no conspiracy. In fact, Craig said that no matter who was eliminated in that questionable week, they would have been brought back. It just happened to be a coincidence that the eliminated person was Ruben Studdard.

As for Studdard, he is thrilled that he got the chance to be there at the ranch. He explained that he has learned a lot and made some amazing friendships. Now, we can’t wait to see him at the finale.
