Just a few days after making a huge impression at the Soul Train Awards, singer and Braxton Family Values star Tamar Braxton has returned with a brand new music video. Based on the Winter Loversland hit She Can Have You, this holiday-themed video is clearly a far cry from the disastrous Hot Sugar!
Typically, romantic Christmas songs feature smug couples walking hand and hand through the snow or, as in the case of Mariah Carey’s memorable hit, smitten ladies hoping that Santa will somehow manage to deliver a full-grown man alongside all the children’s toys. But She Can Have You – the latest Tamar Braxton holiday single — takes a far darker look at December love, littered with complaints of being “alone at Christmas…again this year.” As Tamar revealed in an earlier interview, her hope was to address the single gals left out by the typical festive love songs. “Every single year, it’s the most frustrating thing in the whole world. Everybody has their mates but you don’t have anybody because you don’t want to settle.”
She Can Have You already has the makings of a memorable Christmas hit. The new music video for the song debuted on BET’s 106 & Park the other day, as did a second Tamar Braxton single, dubbed All The Way Home. Unlike She Can Have You, All The Way Home has absolutely nothing to do with the holidays, having been released with Tamar’s other album, Love And War.
We’ve posted the new music video for She Can Have You below, so feel free to check it out. When you’re finished, head to the comments section to tell us what you think!
