It’s been yet another crazy season on The Amazing Race, with highlights including contestants made up as Javanese brides and a very fancy camel show. Like the rest of season 23, yesterday’s two-hour finale featured plenty of twists and turns (but fortunately, no U-turns). Which team came away with the million dollar prize?
The season 23 Amazing Race finale wound up being a battle of lovers (and former lovers), with the lucky final teams including lovebirds Jason and Amy, former lovebirds Tim and Marie, and medical lovebirds Travis and Nicole. Oh yes, and just for the sake of having seventh and eighth wheels, Amazing Race 23 managed to get cousins Leo and Jamal in on the fun. Unfortunately, the Afghanimals struggled with robot building and were thus knocked out of the race before they could hit up Alaska.
Leo and Jamal may have missed out on victory, but they were also spared the burden of taking place in the finale injustices, which included a flour supply drop, a glacier trek and a very frustrating totem pole challenge.
In spite of a string of second place finishes, Jason and Amy managed to beat out the competition for the big prize. Chalk it up to Amy’s flour-dropping abilities — and of course, the dynamic duo’s mastery of healthy communication (a skill, based on the finale, Travis and Nicole clearly lack).
What did you think of this season’s Amazing Race finale? Are Jason and Amy deserving winners? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it, so feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
