Teen Mom 3: Cast Responds To Cancellation Rumors

December 09, 2013 06:00 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

Did MTV just pull the plug on Teen Mom 3? Appears so, assuming you’re willing to put any stock in what the current cast members have to say. What happened and how did the show’s rejects respond?

Unfortunately for MTV, Teen Mom 3 just hasn’t captured viewer interest like Teen Moms 1 and 2. Chalk it up to a lack of  Jenelle Evans…or Farrah Abraham…or something.

No matter the cause of this ratings disaster, MTV has decided to bring the misery to an end. Or at least, that’s what the rumors seem to suggest. Lending credence to these sad, sad theories are multiple Teen Mom 3 stars, including Alexandria Sekella and Briana Dejesus.

In a recent Twitter post addressing the situation, Alexandria appeared to share viewer sentiment surrounding Teen Mom’s cancellation. She quipped, “Guess we weren’t enough of train wrecks for it to be interesting. America wants to watch crazies.”

Briana Dejesus also took a stab at Teen Mom alums (or, more specifically, Farrah Abraham) tweeting, “Time to move on from MTV and do bigger and better things & no I don’t mean become a porn star.”

Katie Yeager’s response was far more tempered than those of her costars. She thanked MTV via social media, explaining, “I’m grateful for this experience. Molli and I are ready to move on from this and live a normal life.”

Teen Mom 3 may be over, but if the rumors are to be believed, Teen Mom 2 will return in 2014. The gals have certainly been busy, so it should make for an interesting new season!

Please reconsider airing Teen Mom 3. It is absurd that the dysfunction on Teen Mom 2 that exists with cast members keeps ratings up. If the show was designed to prevent teen pregnancy, shouldn’t the network be considering Teen Mom 3. These girls have shown resiliency and responsibility. A great message for teen age mothers.
