Duck Dynasty proves over and over that it is definitely one of A&E’s biggest hits, and the Christmas special was no different. While it didn’t nab the double digit ratings that the season 4 premiere did, the Robertson family‘s Christmas episode did manage to score nearly 9 million viewers, and we even got a sneak peek into the show’s new season!
Just when it looked like Duck Dynasty‘s rating were dropping slightly, the show’s Christmas special managed to snag nearly 9 million viewers, which is an impressive number for any cable show. It wasn’t quite the whopping 11+ million that the season premiere scored, but still, it proved that the bearded family is definitely one of America’s favorites.
If you happened to miss the Christmas special, some of the highlights included Phil taking Miss Kay and Jessica out pig hunting, leaving Jessica pretty much mortified when she had to help Phil drag a poop covered pig back home. The Robertson family also put on a Nativity story for their church, which they do every year – it was very fun to watch them all dressed up. Of course, in typical Willie fashion, the Duck Commander CEO just had to prove that he was the best gift giver ever! Check out the Christmas special clip below:
We also got a sneak peek into the new season. Yes, the clan will be back in 2014 for season 5! Check it out:
