Prior to Khloe Kardashian’s divorce filing from NBA player Lamar Odom back in December, all the sordid details of what ended their marriage filled the tabloids and gossip sites. The demise of the marriage is also a central plot line on the upcoming season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and Lamar is reportedly pretty worried about it. However, he does have one supporter – and an unlikely one at that – who has been doing his best to offer encouragement and advice before all of Lamar’s skeletons are yanked out of the closet on cable television.
Hollywood Life is reporting that Bruce Jenner spent an hour on the phone with Lamar on New Year’s Day, where he doled out advice and offered support ahead of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians season 9 premiere. Trailers for the new season show a heavy focus on Khloe Kardashian and Lamar’s doomed relationship, and Lamar has some (legitimate) concerns about how his alleged drug use and womanizing will be portrayed on television. A source said that, during his phone call, Bruce told Lamar to “Hope for the best but expect the worst when it comes to that show and what they’re going to reveal because this is how they survive — by putting everything on the table.”
To help Lamar cope with the potential damage to his reputation, former stepfather-in-law Bruce also advised the basketballer not to tune in to the show this season, and to avoid the tabloids and websites covering the Kardashians. Says the source, “He told Lamar to forget about everything that happened in 2013 and not drag all the drama, defeats and embarrassments with him. Bruce told him, ‘It will eat you alive and ruin any progress if you stay in the past.’ He also told Lamar to stay off the websites and turn the TV off and not listen to gossip about him. He basically gave Lamar a lot of advice and mental support.”
Interesting. Looks like the two most recently exiled members of the Kardashian family (just calling it like it is here) are bonding over shared experiences.
What do you think? Is Bruce right to advise Lamar Odom, or is Lamar getting what he deserves for his bad behavior last year? Tell us in the comments!
