Snooki Receives Surprising DNA Test Results

January 08, 2014 12:00 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

This past summer, Snooki confused the paparazzi by visiting a DNA testing facility. At the time, speculation pointed to possible concerns regarding the identity of Lorenzo’s father. Turns out, the Jersey Shore star wanted to learn more about her own heritage. The test results just might surprise you; they certainly proved a revelation for our favorite guidette!

Viewers have traditionally assumed that anyone and everyone portrayed on Jersey Shore could point to a thoroughly Italian-American background. Turns out, that’s not exactly the case for Snooki. The pint-sized reality star was born in Chile and later adopted by an Italian-American family, so while she’s spent her life among guidos and guidettes, her biological background differs somewhat from that of her Jersey Shore counterparts.

Curious about her heritage, Snooki decided to seek feedback from a DNA test. And of course, MTV was there to film the entire escapade — after all, producers needed material for Snooki & JWoww. Snooki definitely experienced a case of the nerves before she learned the results, although she was also excited to find out why, exactly, her natural skin color had always been on the dark side.

She assumed some sort of Spanish background would enter the equation, but it looks like Snooki’s ancestry covers the entire globe! While consulting with a DNA specialist, Snooki learned that she had Jewish, Slovakian, Asian, even Gypsy blood! She had mixed feelings about the DNA test results, later admitting that she didn’t mind learning of her Asian heritage, because “Asians are hot.”

Are you surprised to learn of Snooki’s ancestry? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it, so feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below!

In the program, the testing company name was blurred out. I would have liked to know which company she used. It seems like they showed the laboratory company, and not the testing provider. It is also unusual that the result was provided in person, and not just by e-mail (I assume that this was done because of MTV). Some companies require that you log on to their site, because the results include a large amount of data and continuing re-evaluation of the test data. You just cannot get your results read out like that, because they make little sense. Some of the results are bizarrely specific (Slovakian) while others are completely vague (Asian).

The report just mentioned a large number of ancestries, but not the percentages of the various ancestries. I mean, if she’s 45% “Asian” and 2% Gypsy/South Asian, then it’s obvious that her Gypsy ancestry is somewhat irrelevant.

It’s obvious that she is of Indigenous American ancestry. Those features she has are not Asian, they are clearly Indigenous. If all her ancestries mentioned were of equal parts, the she would be mostly European, with minimal other ancestry and she could never be that dark or have the features she has – which looks surprisingly AMERINDIAN when she has no make up on her face. Of her ancestries, only Roma can be that dark, but she does not look like a Romani AT ALL.
