LuAnn De Lesseps Dishes On Her Reduced Role On The New Season Of The Real Housewives Of New York City

The next drama-filled season of The Real Housewives of New York City is set to airin just a few short weeks, but there’s one cast member that won’t be there for the premiere – LuAnn De Lesseps. In fact, LuAnn won’t be in the first THREE episodes, but don’t worry, guys. The Countess isn’t going away for good, and even though she has a reduced role this season, she still plans on contributing her share of the drama.
In a recent chat with E! News about the upcoming season of RHONYC, LuAnn shed some light on the big mystery surrounding her absence during the first three episodes. And apparently, it’s not a mystery at all, it was a simple case of “oops I didn’t sign my contract in time.”Ugh, boring. I was hoping for some sort of conflict or secret alliance with the other Housewives to get her off the show. Color me disappointed.
LuAnn is totally cool with her reduced role, however. She told E! that instead of being a full-time Housewife, she’s more interested anyway in having a smaller, recurring role on the show. With less responsibility where RHONCY is concerned, she can focus more on other stuff. “It’s a win-win for me,” she explained. “I’m still on the show. I’m still very much a part of the show, but it’s not a fulltime thing. I just made the decision to step back so I can spend more time doing my things with business and my family.”One of those things she’s interested in pursuing is acting. “I just took an improv acting class,” LuAnn revealed. “I loved it.” Aside from being on The Real Housewives of New York City, where is 100% NOT acting (right?), she’s been on Law & Order: SVU and Royal Pains.
Her part-time status doesn’t mean she’s not going to be involved in all the catifghting and drama, however. “How can I avoid the drama?” LuAnn told E!.”The drama is unavoidable. So yes, I’m a part of the drama—absolutely!”
Good, since that’s the whole reason we watch.
So what do you think about LuAnn’s De Lesseps’ decision to be a part-time Housewife? Will you be tuning in next season? Tell us in the comments!
