It’s the question fans have been asking for weeks… When will Survivor: Cagayan premiere? CBS has finally released details, and it turns out, the show is getting a two-hour debut — but it comes later than usual.
Survivor: Cagayan will kick off its season (the 28th season in the series) on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. EST. This date is nearly two weeks after the typical premiere timeframe of a spring season.
Here’s a breakdown of the four previous spring premiere dates:
- Survivor: Caramoan — Fans Vs. Favorites (season 26) premiered on Feb. 13, 2013. (Read my recap of this premiere episode)
- Survivor: One World (season 24) premiered on Feb. 15, 2012. (Read my recap of this premiere episode)
- Survivor: Redemption Island (season 22) premiered on Feb. 16, 2011. (Read my recap of this premiere episode)
- Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains (season 20) premiered on Feb. 11, 2010. (Read my recap of this premiere episode)
This will mark the show’s first two-hour launch since Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains (season 20) in 2010. Last spring’s debut of Survivor: Caramoan — Fans Vs. Favorites was initially announced as a two-hour debut, but was later trimmed down to 90 minutes. The extra half hour was filled by a rerun of “The Big Bang Theory.”
Survivor: Cagayan will feature 18 new castaways who are divided into three tribes based on brains, brawn and beauty.
The cast has not yet been officially announced.
