Is Jacqueline Laurita taking a page from the Teresa Guidice playbook? Like Teresa, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star seems to be in a bit of pickle with the IRS, and with the bills mounting, it doesn’t look pretty for the Jersey housewife.
RadarOnline has the scoop on Jacqueline Laurita’s latest financial woes, and this time it seems that the reality star owes the IRS more than $85,000 in unpaid taxes. Ouch! That’s not a great way to start the new year, amiright?
This isn’t the first time the Real Housewives of New Jersey star has dealt with money troubles, either. Just last year, Jacqueline and her hubby Chris were facing foreclosure on their Franklin Lakes mansion, after being slapped with a lien totaling more than $338,000.Jacqueline, however, says it was all just a misunderstanding (right), and that she and Chris were merely making changes to their mortgage. “We simply modified our mortgage, which is a process,” she said at the time, also denying that she and Chris were having money troubles.
She then explained further, “The $340k was from a tax audit in 2006, in which about 1/2 of that was added interest. We have been disputing this because we didn’t think it was fair to pay so much interest on something we didn’t even know we owed until recently. The IRS is currently working with us to lower the amount owed and once that new amount is decided, we will, of course, pay that amount. We are good people doing the right thing.”
Okay, so the bottom line seems to be that Jacqueline and Chris are in hella debt, and the IRS wants their money.Welcome to the real world, guys.
So what do you think? Is Jacqueline Laurita in serious money trouble, or is it all just a big misunderstanding like she wants us to think? Tell us in the comments!
