Brandi Glanville Spends Time With Her Estranged Father

January 21, 2014 02:00 PM by Suzy Kerr

Brandi Glanville’s life may seem like a constant drama-fest, and well, that’s because it pretty much is. While most of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s issues this season have been with co-star Joyce Giraud, there has also been some tension brewing between Brandi and her estranged father, but the two finally managed to come together during last night’s show. What a relief, now we can get back to focusing solely on the Joyce drama.

Last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills highlighted Brandi Glanville’s continued tensions with her father, Guy. The two have been estranged since Brandi published her book, Drinking and Tweeting, where she labeled her dad as a drug dealing, marijuana-growing hippie. That, coupled with a revealing outfit she wore to the 2013 Oscars, apparently pissed off Papa Glanville kind of a lot, and the two hadn’t spoken in months.

The two were finally brought together in Brandi’s hometown of Sacramento, where she was the featured speaker at a gay pride event, and of course Bravo cameras were rolling to capture the father-daughter reunion. Brandi’s pal Yolanda Foster was also there to support Brandi in what could have been a really awkward meeting, and she told the cameras, “I’ve never seen Brandi this vulnerable and nervous.”

At the event, Brandi asked the crowd gathered to wish her dad a happy birthday, and afterward she took Guy and the rest of her family back to her hotel room for some family bonding. When Brandi nervously asked her father how he was, he replied, “I’m glad I came. I came for your mom. And we will go forward. And the outfit looks really good on you.” The two hugged, and Brandi tearfully told her dad she loved him, and he FINALLY said it back, after spending the evening refusing to acknowledge Brandi’s previous use of the L-word that day. Rude. But at least he finally relented and told her daughter he loves her. I think Brandi probably needs to hear those words more than most people.

But what are your thoughts on this? Did you think the father-daughter reunion was awkward? Do you think that now that her relationship with her dad might improve, Brandi will work to fix other relationships in her life? Tell us in the comments!
