After all the emphasis on Farrah Abraham and Taylor Armstrong, it was refreshing to delve into Jon Gosselin’s relationship woes on Couples Therapy. During last night’s therapy session, Jon opened up about his marriage to Kate Gosselin, claiming that he never cheated on the Kate Plus 8 star.
The public has long assumed that Jon and Kate Gosselin’s divorce was caused by infidelity on Jon’s part. But the former reality dad insists that despite major issues in his relationship with Kate, he’d never have dreamed of cheating on her. During his session with current girlfriend Liz Jannetta on Couples Therapy, he explained, “The biggest misconception is that the reason we got a divorce was that I cheated on my wife…I didn’t.”
So, if cheating wasn’t an issue, why did Jon and Kate decided to seek a divorce? According to Jon, the real problem was a complete lack of affection on both sides. “[My marriage] was just kind of like ten years of a business transaction. So many kids, it was just like ‘we don’t have time to work on our marriage!’”
The supposed cheating incidents of 2009 allegedly took place after Jon had decided his relationship with Kate was over. And that’s when things really fell apart. “I went out to a bar and stayed out ’til 4 o’clock in the morning. When I came home that morning, [Kate] said nothing. So I did it the next night.”
Sounds to us like Jon Gosselin really doesn’t think he was engaging in infidelity. But even if he was trapped in a loveless marriage, the rest of us would probably still refer to his behavior as cheating. What do you think? Leave a comment and let us know!
