Viewers were not alone in expressing their shock at Joyce Giraud’s careless handling of a deadly weapon on this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The other Housewives were just as uncomfortable with Joyce’s actions at the firing range, and none more than Carlton Gebbia, who slammed her co-star in her Bravo blog this week.
During the episode, Joyce and her husband Michael visited the gun range to practice shooting, something they felt necessary after two armed men reportedly snuck onto their property. At the range, Joyce revealed to the instructor that she’d only ever fired a gun once – but it was for a movie so it didn’t have real bullets. The instructor was not impressed, and told Joyce, “We don’t count fake stuff.”
However, a few minutes later, the Housewife did manage to catch his attention, but not in the way she would’ve liked. After trying to show off her acting skills, the former Miss Puerto Rico accidently pointed her weapon at the instructor, which, in case you’re unfamiliar with firing range protocol, is a HUGE F**KING NO-NO. Also, it makes you look really, really stupid if you do that.
After the show aired, viewers wasted no time sounding off on social media about Joyce’s ineptitude in handling a weapon. “Joyce is going to shoot someone by mistake with that gun. It’s NOT a prop!” one fan posted, while another said, “Owning a gun doesn’t make you a bad ass Joyce. I think you are sending the wrong message.”
The stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were equally concerned, especially Carlton Gebbia. On her Bravo blog, the English-born beauty wrote, “Waiving (sic) your personally loaded gun around like a hairbrush speaks volumes. You should honestly stick to baseball bats. There is such a thing about having respect for a gun and not thinking that you’re in your own bad action movie. Guns are not a joke.”
I couldn’t agree more. What about you? Did you think Joyce Giraud’s actions at the firing range were completely out of line, or was it just an honest mistake? Sound off in the comments!
