If you witnessed last night’s Bachelor wedding special, you may recall hearing the phrase “grown sexy” over and over again. Catherine Giudici was bound and determined to infuse that concept into every aspect of the ceremony, from her wedding gown to Sean Lowe’s tux. Did she succeed?
What in the world is grown sexy? Catherine Giudici repeated the phrase at least several dozen times in the lead up to her big wedding ceremony, and yet, we still don’t really know what she meant. She tried to clue her wedding planner in on the concept, explaining, “The wedding day to me is so exciting because it’s kind of like my coming out party to be sexy, to be grown up…I want everyone to feel so sexy that they conceive that night.”
Okay, so Catherine wanted to be seen as grown up and sexy. Why did she need to coin a brand new phrase? Wouldn’t referring to her wedding as “sexy” be good enough? Turns out, confused audience members were in good company, for Sean Lowe was just as clueless about this supposedly innovative concept. Obviously hesitant to adopt Catherine’s odd terminology, he attempted to describe the ceremony as “festive” and “mind-blowing,” adjectives we think definitely beat out “grown sexy.” But Catherine disagreed, admonishing her hubby-to-be for “just saying words.”
Whatever Catherine was going for, she must have accomplished that and more — in her first post-wedding social media update, the reality star tweeted, “The best day of my life. I’m a Lowe!”
