Dream homes definitely don’t come cheap. Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak is learning that the hard way, and she and her hubby Kroy Biermann have had to take out an additional six-figure line of credit to cover the remaining construction costs. It’s a little crazy, but hey, 8 fireplaces and 2-story closets aren’t exactly the norm, either.
RadarOnline is reporting about Kim Zolciak’s latest financial move, and it’s a big ‘un. The reality starlet and her footballer husband have been busy renovating an Alpharett, Georgia mansion they bought in 2012 to turn it into their dream home, but it seems the couple has run out of funds. To remedy the situation, Kim and Kroy have taken out an additional $300,000 line of credit to finish off the construction.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and the NFL player bought the home, appropriately called Zolciak Manor, for a whopping $880,000 and have slowly been transforming it into a luxurious getaway for their family of eight. The nearly 7,200-square foot house features 5 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, and some of the renovations include a 2-story master closet, 8 fireplaces, a huge pool and a grand staircase. Of course, all of these things add up, and anyone who’s ever renovated a home knows that surprise costs are guaranteed throughout the process.I guess Kim and Kroy didn’t take that into consideration, though, since they needed an extra 300k to finish the job. I mean, they could have settled for a 1-story closet and maybe only like 4 fireplaces, but then it wouldn’t qualify as “dream home” status, now would it?
I guess if you wanna live big, you gotta dream big….and pay big.
What do you think about Kim Zolciak’s dream home? Are her renovations over the top, or does she deserve such grandeur? Tell us in the comments!
