Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be two of the wealthiest celebs around, but even they can’t pass up a huge discount when they see one. It seems that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and her rapper fiancé may get their dream wedding for free, because E! is reportedly in talks with the couple to pick up the tab for the big day in exchange for filming rights.
According to sources at RadarOnline, E! wants to turn Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding into a huge reality event, and the network is willing to pay for everything if the couple agrees – and it sounds like they have. “Kim persuaded Kanye to let the cameras roll because E! will pick up most of the cost of the wedding and it’s a lot easier for a network to deal with logistics of a foreign wedding than if it were just the two of them planning it,” the source told Radar.
Of course, it’s all kind of old hat for Kim, who’s been down this road before. When the reality star married Kris Humphries in a $10 million ceremony back in 2011, she paid next to nothing for the big event because E! turned it into another reality special. She even got tons of free goodies for promotional purposes, and then netted $1.5 million more from People when sold the wedding pics.
This time around, it’s even a bigger deal, because unlike Kris Humphries, Kanye West is a household name. People are more interested, so the potential for profit is even greater. Keeping Up with the Kardashians will also show some of the footage from Kanye’s epic proposal last October, which will help hype the big day even more.
While there’s been no official confirmation from either Kanye or Kim’s people about whether or not the wedding will be turned into a TV event, it seems like a pretty safe bet. The constant quest for fame paired with the possibility of saving/making millions of dollars? No one’s going to pass that up.
So what do you think? Will you tune into to watch Kanye and Kim exchange vows if it’s on TV? Tell us in the comments!
