Teresa Giudice Opens Up About Her Indictment As Her Daughter Uses Gay Slur

February 06, 2014 09:00 AM by Suzy Kerr

Teresa Giudice’s court date is inching closer, but the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is doing everything she can to keep a brave face.In an interview earlier this week, the reality star opened up about her upcoming trial and how she’s staying strong for her kids – one of whom is currently dealing with intense internet backlash after using a gay slur.

Teresa Giudice, who is headed to trial this spring to defend herself against 41 counts of fraud along with her husband Joe, opened up to ABC News on Tuesday about how things are going now that the trial is just weeks away.”I can’t just be upset and crawl up in a ball and just go in a room and—and lock the door. I can’t. I’m a mom. I have four daughters,” she told the network. “My oldest does know something’s going on. But, you know, we say, ‘Mommy and daddy, you know, have a legal team that’s handling it,” she continued.

When asked specifically about her role in the allegations, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star would only say, “I would love to answer all your questions, and one day I will. But, you know, out of respect of the process, I’m going to let, you know, the legal matters play out in court.“

And play out in court they will. The Giudices are set to appear before a judge in April, where they hope to be able to defend themselves separately. The couple has asked the judge to grant them separate trials, but there’s been no answer so far. If the two are convicted, they face up to 30 years in prison.

Joe and Teresa’s legal matters aren’t the family’s only concern right now either, as the couple’s 13-year old daughter Gia is also coming under fire for a gay slur she used in a recent tweet. The message, which was sent in response to another user and has since been deleted, read, “@nickslaaen who’s this chick u little f—–t.”

Apparently, the apple doesn’t far too fall from the tree.

So what do you think about the lasted in the Giudice’s legal matters? Do you think Teresa is doing the right thing by putting on a brave face, or should she be preparing her kids for the worst? Tell us in the comments!

I don’t expect anything less from these Giudice girls, the apple sure doesn’t fall too far from the tree. I don’t think that Gia is as bad as Milania, that child is totally out of control, like her mama, she needs a filter for her mouth.

Just heard on the news that they will be pleading guilty this week in court to fraud charges. supposedly the deal is she will not get jail time and he will be getting 5years…hmmmmmmm It’s been reported her dad is really sick and all of this stress is not helping… Really don’t understand these people – Do you really think all your so called fame was worth it ????? But in our sick society she’ll be on the talk shows and writing a book about her terrible woes and making more money. And what SHOULD happen is they should ban her from TV totally and tell her to go get her house in order – she did go on national TV and claim none of these charges were true and they were living in their means. which truly they were NOT…

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Most kids in middle school make this misstep of inappropriate comments, how is Gia any different than the average middleschooler? Just because she’s in the public eye, people are harsher, more judgemental, raised 2 boys and if I could count all the times the kids in the neighborhood used that word, I’d be rich, the intent isn’t targeted at actual gay people, it’s just using a taboo word, not correct or good, but it’s very prevalent amongst all classes of kids. Ease up, and overall Teresa definitely loves her kids, she’s a flawed human like us all, give her a break, publicly humiliated for money woes and husbands behavior is scrutiny enough, don’t bash another woman unless you’ve walked in her stilettos.
