The Biggest Loser Trainers Break Silence On Rachel Frederickson’s Weight Loss

February 06, 2014 06:45 AM by Lisa Princ

The Biggest Loser crowned Rachel Frederickson the season 15 winner this week, leaving everyone in shock with her emaciated look. We all saw the trainers faces when they got a glimpse of Rachel, and now, they are breaking their silence about it…sort of!

Rachel Frederickson proved to be a force to be reckoned with all season long on The Biggest Loser, so when it came to finale time, we all expected her to look slim, but not emaciated! And as viewers were shocked, we could also see the horrified look on the faces of Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels. Recently, both Bob and Jillian issued the exact same statement to their fans on social media, but they pretty much dodged the entire thing.

Here is what Jillian Michaels posted: “Bob and I want to take a moment to congratulate all of the BL contestants on their hard work. We’re not comfortable commenting on Rachel’s journey because weren’t her trainers and weren’t given an opportunity to work with her at any point. Any questions about the contestants on the Biggest Loser should be directed to the show’s producers.” Meanwhile, Bob Harper issued the same statement. Immediately after the statement was made, fans began to wonder whether or not the two trainers were placing the blame on Dolvett Quince, who at the time, did not issue any statement.

Since that time, Dolvett Quince finally broke his silence as well, telling fans: “Last night’s Biggest Loser Finale has sparked a huge reaction and I do not want the day to end without addressing it. Biggest Loser is a journey which has its ups and downs. Please try not to look at one slice of Rachel’s journey and come to broad conclusions. Rachel’s health is and always has been my main concern and her journey to good health has not yet ended!”

While yes, Dolvett was her trainer on the ranch, it’s completely silly to place the blame on him. Rachel left the ranch looking healthy and returned looking anorexic.

There is a HUGE difference between “emancipated” and “emaciated”. Wow. I also disrespect Jillian for taking the time to throw her co-trainer under the bus. Wow again.

Emaciated and emancipated are different things. Rachel looks emaciated. I am sure she became an emancipated adult at age 18. Who proof reads these reports?

I am totally turned off by a show I have watched since it’s Season ONE. Many things are wrong about making the issue about Bobby being gay. Bobby was first seen as LAZY, then he and Bob who has been on my gaydar since season ONE, “confesses” to being gay, and the show became about being gay and able instead about being fat and disciplined. Sad, sad, finale, you have lost a loyal viewer. The doctor and a few others need to be fired. Rachel needs to pony up the truth and give the 250K to Bobby. David’s weight loss must have also been WRONG. He looked emaciated, jaundiced, disoriented AND NOT HEALTHY AT ALL.

Firstly, you people need to have someone, a person, not spell check, actually edit your column before you release it for printing. The correct word you’re trying to use is “emaciate” – to become extremely thin versus “emancipate” – to free. Secondly, I don’t watch BL but even I know that once the contestant is off the ranch they do their own thing so don’t blame the BL trainers if the girl looks like she needs a good sandwich, LOL!!

I don’t think she should have won. Everyone is concerned about Rachel, Tumi looked EMACIATED as well. The contestants who lost at home looked great compared to those that were left for the finally. I’m beginning to believe the stories about BL and their techniques.

SN…Rachel looks a lot like Jillian with that weight loss.

I was very sorry to see how Rachel looks, but I certainly don’t think that the blame should be on Dolvett or anyone one else from the show. People make their own choices and Rachel obviously needs some kind of counseling for deeper issues than what she revealed on the show. I will continue to watch the B.L. and hope the best for Rachel and her health.

My biggest issue is that the finalists seem to be doing anything/everything they can just for the prize money, not for their health. There should be a stipulation in the rules that the contestants must remain within a healthy weight range to receive the prize. Rachael should not have been given the title/money – but disqualified due to her obvious choice to endanger her health and well-being. This gives all women (and men) the wrong idea about “being thin” and losing weight. The trainers are not responsible for what a contestant does once they leave the ranch.

    Rachael, get some help pronto!!!

When someone works hard to loose their excessive weight why does everyone jump on them, this girl and other contestants worked daily watching what they were eating and doing an abundant amount of exercise. Bless them…yes they say couple pounds a week but consider the amount of exercise they do on the show daily. They do hours of exercise.
